Whose mission is this, anyway?
It was never a specialty ministry — it is the plain agenda of the God every Christian already claims to follow.
Global mission is not a department of the church, assigned to a few enthusiasts. It is the stated agenda of God Himself, running from Genesis to Revelation, for the time between Christ’s ascension and His return.
Before God said “Let there be light,” before the sun, moon, stars, oceans, or a single living thing — He was already thinking of every person who would ever live. That is where value starts: not in what we accomplish, but in whose idea we were.
To engage well in what God is doing, five things need to be settled — not memorized as trivia, but genuinely known:
Skip any one of the five and mission quietly turns into a program instead of a relationship — an obligation instead of the obvious next move for someone who has come to know a good and glorious God.
“Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” — John Piper
